editorial — Atelier Kovář
Salt Index.
An eight-page beauty story about texture and absence — skin, sheer black, and the colour of a struck match.
Notes
A story for Atelier Kovář built around a deliberately narrow vocabulary: matte skin, one sheer black layer, and a grey that refuses to commit. The “index” is exactly that — a catalogue of surfaces, ordered like swatches.
I designed the layout as a grid that keeps breaking its own rule: a strict baseline with one image per spread allowed to escape it. The single warm accent — the orange of a struck match — is the only heat in eight cold pages.
